YOURpath for Adult Learners is a 501c3 nonprofit organization offering adult basic education services to adult learners nationwide since 2018. We offer our adult students 24 hours/7 days a week access to our personalized online TABE, GED & HiSET preparation courses. These courses enable students to gain the content knowledge and literacy/numeracy skills needed to achieve their high school equivalency diploma through alternative state testing. We also offer our “Next Step” AND entrepreneur training services to students who have completed the program by earning their H.S. equivalency diploma. Our “Next Step” AND entrepreneur training services aid students in applying for college, enlisting in the military, seeking employment, advancing in the workforce or starting their own full-time or part-time business, traditionally or nontraditionally.
Why is our work important today, tomorrow, and will be for years to come? Because today, 43 million US adults possess low literacy skills and 39 to 40 million are without a high school diploma (Ad Council, 2019; NCES, 2019). Moreover, according to statistics, non-H.S. graduates have the highest unemployment rate and earn significantly less than H.S graduates over time (Department of Labor, 2021). These disparities have significant social disadvantages, such as poor health conditions, high crime rates, high poverty, and repetitive family dropout cycles, esp. among lower-income communities, where the dropout rate and lack of basic skills are higher (All4Ed, 00:06:15-01:02:50).
To be recognized as a leader in adult basic education, demonstrating a TRUE commitment toward increasing adult literacy, numeracy, and the high school completion rate of adult learners by fostering a culture and climate of student achievement and providing quality instruction, guidance, and ongoing support to each and every student. OUR CORE VALUES are:
Teamwork makes the dream work!
Our mission is to ensure that every student in our program achieves their high school equivalency diploma by acquiring the content knowledge, literacy, and numeracy skills needed to demonstrate high school proficiency and college readiness. It is also to ensure that our students have access to resources for advanced learning and employment/career opportunities upon attaining their high school equivalency diploma.
